NEW Honda CRF450 Rally Launch

Honda unveils Dakar Rally model – the new CRF450 RALLY

Honda has released official photos of the new CRF450 RALLY model designed specifically for rally racing. TEAM HR8c9a2353C (the Honda works motorcycle rally team) will use the CRF450 RALLY at the upcoming ‘2014 Dakar Rally -Argentina, Bolivia, Chile- in January 2014.

TEAM HRC returned to the Dakar Rally in January 2013 for the first time in 24 years, with a Prototype of CRF450 RALLY based on Honda’s commercial CRF450X enduro racing model. The 2013 Dakar Rally generated valuable data in key areas such as engine output, aerodynamic performance, durability and maintenance requirements, which was used as the basis for further design modifications and enhancements. The resulting all-new CRF450 RALLY model retains the Programmed Fuel Injection
(PGM-FI*) electronic fuel injection system that has shown proven performance in the severe and highly variable environmental conditions of the Dakar Rally. The new CRF450 RALLY will be used by TEAM HRC and will be released to other rally teams as a production rally bike during 2014.

TEAM HRC will participate in 2013 Morocco Rally starting October 13 with CRF450 RALLY, using the same combination of five riders and five machines for the 2014 Dakar Rally. Testing in actual race conditions is expected to provide useful data for further refinements and enhancements.

Nick Fahringer Dominates the Moose Run!

G2 Ergonomics rider Nick Fahringer (center) and his Husaberg 300 dominated the OMA Moose Run by Moose Racing over the weekend!  Strong rain a few days before had some concerned, but the course was perfect for Sunday.  G2 rider Adam Bonneur (on right) grabbed the holeshot twice (don’t ask), but it quickly turned into an epic battle between 2013 OMA Series Champ Russell Bobbitt (on left) and Fahringer.  The pair were mid-way through the second loop when they entered the infamous “Black’s” section neck & neck with Fahringer in the lead.  By the end of Black’s, Fahringer gapped a sizable lead and held it through to the finish.  Also on the podium was Adam Bonneur, who edged out G2 rider and 2012 GNCC XC2 Champ Jason Thomas for third. 1394425_721675941194355_1218490225_n

5 Days ’till Moose Run by OMA!

1385951_10151739200593335_1348942902_nThat’s right, ONLY 5 more days until the Moose Run – the final round of the OMA series!  The weather in NW Illinois is cool and sunny, with little to no rain in the forecast.  Could this be the easiest Moose Run ever?  Will there be ANY water in Rock Creek?  I’m sure the Gusse’s are pumping water into the ditches as we speak!  Riders scheduled to appear so far are OMA points leader Russell Bobbitt, Nick Fahringer, Jason Thomas and Portugese National Enduro Champ Goncalo Ries.   THIS JUST IN!!!  Multi-time OMA Champ Paul Whibley will not attend this year and instead head home to New Zealand to fully heal up for 2014.

G2 Ergonomics Congratulates Braxton McGee on Clinching a National GNCC Title!

The Moose Run is only 9 days away…

1382403_633972759980912_541215940_nYes, the Moose Run is only 9 days away! Bill and Monty Gusse are almost finished with the trail sections of what is considered “Amerca’s Tuffest Race” and final round of the infamous OMA National Series. The weather has been pretty dry in Fenton, IL, this fall, so maybe this will be one of the easier Moose Runs? Multi-time OMA Champ Paul Whibley is all healed up and expected to be a threat. However, series points leader Russell Bobbit and contenders Nick Fahringer and Kailub Russell may have something to say about that! In addition, two wild card riders are scheduled to show up – defending GNCC XC2 Champ Jason Thomas and 6 Time Portugal Enduro Champ Goncalo Ries. Thomas is no stranger to OMA events, and Ries is a regular in the European World Extreme Enduro circuit. Has anybody heard of any other pros coming? Paul Whibley uses the G2 throttle with 100 or 200 cam and G2 Mongo Handguard Mounts, Nick Fahringer uses the G2 2 stroke quick turn system and Jason Thomas uses G2 Competition Handguards with a G2 Quick Turn Throttle.
